As part of our ongoing initiative to deliver 4G LTE Cat 1 enabled products, we’re happy to announce that we’ve expanded our 4G LTE Cat 1 into the field-proven Vanguard IoT gateways. The first in the lineup are the Vanguard 400 industrial serial router and the Vanguard 600 industrial Ethernet router – both enabled with LTE Cat 1 to support a broad range of applications such as industrial IoT (IIoT), telemetry, intelligent traffic systems and remote site applications requiring reliable primary, temporary or back-up internet connectivity.
You’ve no doubt been hearing a lot of noise from the carriers about the new LTE Cat 1 network technology. The main benefits being cost savings coupled with the peace of mind that the network won’t be “sunsetted” any time soon for applications that typically require broadband speeds and less power consumption. However, we’ve heard some hesitancy from industrial IoT customers to invest in this technology until the carriers have fully rolled out these networks and coverage is pervasive. With CalAmp’s Vanguard routers, we’ve got you covered, both the Vanguard 400 and Vanguard 600 combine next generation 4G LTE Cat1 cellular technology with 3G fallback to future proof your investment and ensure connectivity as the network is rolled out.
Both the Vanguard 400 and Vanguard 600 can leverage the embedded Linux-based Open Developer Platform (ODP) which allows customers to build intelligence into the Vanguard to support custom markets and application-specific needs. The new routers also seamlessly integrate with DeviceOutlook. CalAmp’s cloud-based commercial-grade device management and control application, which supports over-the-air deployments and automated provisioning of custom configurations when devices initially connect to the network.
