CalAmp Tariff Refund Update
CalAmp is committed to supporting our customers as global trade requirements continue to evolve.
Following recent court decisions, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has been directed to refund certain 2025 tariffs collected under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) that were determined to be invalid.
CBP has announced that, beginning April 20, 2026, Importers of Record (IORs) may submit IEEPA tariff refund requests through its new Consolidated Administration and Processing of Entries (CAPE) system. Refunds will be processed on a phased basis. The initial phase applies only to qualifying IEEPA entries that were finalized by CBP during the 80‑day period from January 30 through April 19, 2026.
For shipments in which CalAmp acted as the Importer of Record, we intend to coordinate the submission of eligible refund requests directly with CBP. Customers do not need to take any action with respect to those shipments. Once any refunded amounts are received from CBP, CalAmp will arrange for appropriate reimbursement to its applicable customers, as appropriate.
CBP has indicated that processing and payment of approved refunds may take approximately 60–90 days or more from the time requests are submitted. CalAmp cannot issue refunds until funds have been received from CBP.
At this time, CBP guidance only addresses refunds available under the initial phase of the program. Additional information regarding later phases is expected and will be provided by CBP as it becomes available. Customers seeking further details may also refer to CBP’s IEEPA refund guidance.
CalAmp continues to monitor developments closely and will share updates as additional information becomes available. Our focus remains on minimizing disruption and supporting customers through this evolving process.
