In 2007, CalAmp acquired the Aircept Vehicle Tracking business from AirIQ. Aircept, a leading Telematics service provider, integrated computing intelligence, the Global Positioning System (GPS), wireless communications, digitized mapping and the Internet to provide patented vehicle location and information services (US Patent Numbers 6,249,217 and 6,025,774) to commercial and consumer customers, in particular for vehicle location in the vehicle leasing and financing market.

CalAmp launched an updated version of this service under the Aercept brand early 2008 and has been licensing their technology to a number of other Telematics service providers under the CalAmp Patents.

In 2006, CalAmp acquired Dataradio, a privately-held company and pioneer of wireless RF products for mission critical data communication. A recognized and innovative supplier of advanced wireless data products and systems for mission-critical applications in Public safety organizations, utilities, local government, water management, and other critical infrastructure environments, Dataradio manufactured a portfolio of high performance wireless RF products for licensed and unlicensed spectrum in fixed and mobile wireless data communication.

In 2006, CalAmp acquired Land-Cellular Corp. (Land-Cell), a leading provider of fixed wireless communications solutions. Building on a successful line of first generation CDMA cellular modems and routers, CalAmp extended the offering to include GSM GPRS and GSM EDGE products as well as cellular broadband products with 3G speeds over CDMA 1xEVDO Rev. A or GSM HSDPA networks. Today, CalAmp offers a full lineup of modems and routers for a diversity of wireless connectivity needs over cellular networks.

In 2007, CalAmp acquired the "Omega" product line from Telenetics Corp., a leading provider of wireless communication solutions that use cellular networks to collect data from industrial devices such as meters, remote terminal units, traffic controllers, industrial controls, remote sensors and data loggers and transmit it through wireless cellular networks.

The Omega product line provides a wireless cellular connection for 2-way communications with a wide variety of remote equipment in the AMR/AMI market. Popular applications for Utilities include automated meter reading (AMR) and substation automation, part of the "Smart Grid" initiative, as well as power outage detection, traffic automation projects, flow measurement and remote monitoring.

In 2007, CalAmp acquired SmartLink Radio Networks, a privately-held company and leading provider of proprietary interoperable radio communications platforms and integration services for public safety and critical infrastructure needs.
