OPC is a recognized worldwide standard for inter-program communications allowing business, process and automation application data to be integrated. With OPC Enabled Diagnostics, the Online Diagnostic data reporting on the health and well being of the wireless network is presented in an OPC compliant format and made available for the end user's OPC/DDE compliant HMI system. Using the tagged format, the information is treated as standard PLC/RTU I/O points which can be easily tracked, graphed, and archived. Once integrated, the SCADA software program can provide for alarms based on trends or out of tolerance conditions, allowing for preventative maintenance to avoid catastrophic downtime.
