CalAmp provides wireless communications solutions that enable anytime/anywhere access to critical data and content. The Company serves customers in the public safety, industrial monitoring and controls, mobile resource management, and direct broadcast satellite markets. The Company’s products are marketed under the CalAmp, Dataradio, Smartlink, Aercept, LandCell and Omega trade names. With 25+ years history in developing and marketing innovative, rugged, high volume RF equipment, CalAmp has developed the core competencies to successfully compete and gain leadership positions in mid-sized markets characterized by demanding wireless product requirements, the need for customized solutions, challenging cost targets and rapid ramps in volume.

CalAmp services an addressable market of $2 billion in 2007. The Company projects its addressable market to double by 2011 driven by an expansion in served markets (geographic, adjacent verticals and complementary product platforms) and underlying growth of the addressable markets. In FY2008 CalAmp will focus on strategic growth initiative in the following areas:

The Wireless DataCom Business services the public safety, industrial monitoring and controls, and mobile resource management market segments with wireless solutions that extend communications networks to field applications, thereby enabling coordination of emergency response teams, increasing productivity and optimizing workflow for the mobile workforce, improving management controls over valuable remote assets, and enabling novel applications in a connected world. The Wireless DataCom Business focuses on the following segments:

The Satellite Business provides Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) to Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) television service providers. CalAmp is a principal developer and supplier of outdoor equipment used to receive DBS television programming in the United States. These products, which are installed outside of the subscriber’s premises, consist of a small satellite dish less than one meter in diameter and the electronics unit that receives, processes and amplifies television signals from orbiting satellites for distribution into the building. The Company is works closely with the DBS service providers to design and manufacture next-generation equipment enabling expanded deployment of new service offerings such as expanded high-definition television (HDTV) programming, ethnic and sports programming and enhanced digital video recording features.
